This compact yet comprehensive safari ticks off Tanzania's most iconic wildlife destinations in just over a week. From the wide-open plains of the Serengeti to the amphitheater of the Ngorongoro Crater, you'll scour the best locations for seeking out the celebrated 'Big Five' - lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. With expertly planned game drives at dawn and dusk when animals are most active, you maximise your chances of unforgettable big game encounters and photography.
Your Journey
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Touch down in Arusha and transfer to your hotel, where you meet your guide for a safari briefing over dinner.
Depart Arusha for Tarangire, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Your camp is located within the park, allowing you to head out at sunrise and enjoy afternoon drives returning after dark by spotlight.
Today you travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, a remarkable collapsed volcano providing a micro-habitat for over 25,000 animals including the highly endangered black rhino. With two full days on the crater floor, have your cameras ready!
In the Morning drive to the legendary Serengeti to explore its vast grass plains, acacia woodlands and rocky kopjes. This iconic park provides prime big cat territory along with incredible birdlife. Your camp ensures easy access to the best wildlife hotspots.
Leave the Serengeti behind, travelling back through the Ngorongoro highlands. Your historic lodge offers sweeping views over the crater's rim.
One final opportunity for photos on the crater rim this morning before your transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departing flight.
