Fly-In vs Drive-In Luxury
Most luxury safaris use light aircraft transfers between parks rather than long road drives. A bush plane flight from Arusha to the Serengeti takes 1.5 hours vs 7–8 hours by road. The views from the air are spectacular — flying over the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti's endless plains is an experience in itself.
Fly-in safaris also allow access to remote areas (like Ruaha or Mahale) that are impractical to reach by road.
