Booking with Great Pelican Safari

To complete your booking with Great Pelican Safari, please provide the official names of all participants. Names must match the names on their passports. We will require participants’ full name, nationality, address and flight arrival details. Upon confirmation, we will hold your booking for seven days from the time we have confirmed a tour before the cancellation rules apply. If you need more time, please let us know. If a tour or hotel is fully booked, we will try to offer you a similar option or we reserve the right to re-route the Itinerary without any loss of activities.


All the prices are US$ and Euro€ based on costs at the time. We reserve the right to change the prices at any time before your booking is confirmed. If there are any changes, we will confirm these to you In writing together with our confirmation of your booking.


Great Pelican Safari requires a deposit of 25% to be paid within five days after our confirmation of booking. The remaining amount must be paid at least  45 days before the commencement of our tours and safaris. Payment can be made by direct bank transfer or cash on arrival. If payments have not been received in time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without notice. Any bank transfer fees are to be paid by the client. Note – Don’t you accept credit cards?

In the event of adverse weather conditions or other outwards occurrences, we shall inform you immediately of the nature and extend thereof. The company is not allowed to violate or abuse these conditions, and all similar events beyond our control. In these circumstances, we shall not be liable for any compensation or otherwise responsible for any expenses or losses the client might incur. If we are forced to cancel, delay, curtail or change the arrangements in any way, or where performance or prompt. performance of our contract obligations is prevented or affected.


Each package requires the organization of transport, meals, park entrance fees, accommodation and or other facilities or services. Great Pelican Safaris has no direct day-to-day control over its supplier’s lodges, camps, or beach resorts, international or domestic airlines, or park wardens. Also, Great Pelican Safaris accepts no responsibility for any kind of loss, injury, damage, accident, delay, irregularity or inconvenience which may be occasioned by any defect in any object including a vehicle or local internal charter flight utilized by any supplier for the supply of any service or by an act or omission of any supplier or its servants or agents. Great Pelican Safaris shall not be liable for any loss or expense arising from the loss of property, cancellation or limitation of the tour however caused, save only to the extent that such loss, cancellation or limitation was caused by the company’s negligence. If a vehicle breakdown, sickness, death or accident interrupts a tour, Great Pelican Safari shall not be liable for any cost or expense arising there from,

Cancellation policy and fee

In the event you cancel your booking, in full or partially, for any reason, Great Pelican Safari will levy cancellation charges as outlined below:

– more than 46 days before arrival 50% of total costs

  • 35 days before arrival 75 % of total costs
  • – 35 days or less before arrival or no show 100 % of total costs o.
  • All cancellation refunds are subject to a US$100.00 per person administration charge.

Passports and Visas

It’s the clients’ responsibility to ensure that passports are in order and valid for at least six months after the final day of travel and visas for travel in Tanzania are obtained. For more information about obtaining a visa, visit: https://visa.immigration.go.tz/guidelines

Travelling with children

Great Pelican Safari welcomes families travelling with their children. We love children and have well-trained driver guides who know how to take care of children during a safari. However, it is entirely the parents’ responsibility to take care of their children and their well-being.

Force Majeure

Force Majeure means those circumstances on which our performance with you is prevented or affected by reasons of war, threat of war, civil strife, requisition industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, government actions, explosions, floods, tempests, fires, accidents, sabotage, insurrection, sickness, quarantine, save only to the extent that such Vehicle breakdown, sickness or accident was caused by Great Pelican Safaris willful act or gross negligence. And shall not be liable for any refund or compensation, either total or partial, of passage money paid. We recommend that the client advise passengers to take out necessary Comprehensive Travel insurance to protect the passengers against such events. If you wish to make any claims we need to receive customers claim in writing within 21 days after the end of our services under the contract. Please note our responsibilities and obligations apply only in respect of those services, which we agree to arrange or provide on your behalf. We cannot accept any liability for any services which you arrange on your own.
